If you make almond milk at home this is a great #zerowaste recipe. Instead of throwing away the remains after you strain the milk, you can make these delicious and nutricious bites that are great dressed up as a dessert or travel well in your child's lunch box.
1 1/2 cups of almond meal or the remaining meal from making almond milk
2-3 tbsp of cacao powder, depending on how rich you like your chocolate flavour
8 pitted dates soaked in a tbsp of water
1/2 cup healthy cereal, I used quinoa cacao flakes (no sugar added)
Combine all ingredients (including the water from the dates) in the food processor. When well-combined roll into 1/2 inch balls. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool + enjoy.
