Although we tend think of sugar as boosting our energy it really depends on the quality of it (i.e. it not being processed) and then we are consuming it with fibre in order to slow down it's absorption and not give us that 'high' and then 'crash' feeling.
I have such a sweet tooth myself. Here are the 5 things I do daily to stay on track making choices that really align with how I want to feel and seeing my cravings for what they really are: a need to connect, a need for hydration, a need for a sweet boost of nutrients, a need to take a break.
Here is how I Deal with Sugar Cravings:
Eat fresh fruit.
Drink more water.
Switch coffee for tea (coffee makes me crave sugar more, partly habit, partly a blood sugar thing).
Meditate or just take 10 deep breaths.
